yesterday, today, and not tomorrow
Feb. 12th, 2002 12:58 pmYesterday I went down to Downtown Mesa to pick up some sheet music for Barb. Man, that music store was large. Two stories high and over 25 yards wide. Along one wall was an entire collection of electric guitars, screaming forth in their loud colors and curved shapes. Stacks of cases had to be waded through like a thicket and endless stands of instruments as the first sound is usually that of one playing upon the keyboards near the door. Upstairs is the maze of music. Pages upon pages of unheard sound. I picked up what was needed and headed out. I was drawn into the bookstore a few stores down (I just couldn't help myself) and spent several minutes prowling through their assembly. It was hard to believe that such small-looking stores could have whole cities and jungles of things inside them. The bookstore had street signs guiding your way though the skyscrapers of shelves. It was pretty awesome. After I managed to pull myself away I headed home. Querried if some ladies needed help with their car (they were staring somewhat blankly at the engine and had decided to assign the children to push it back out of the parking space) they said they were well off so I headed out.
Went to In-N-Out and ordered up five burgers for the family (Animal style, of course, being as that's the only way to have them *grins*) and sat. While I awaited my food's preparation I entertained myself by watching the dozen employees go about their jobs. One was particularly proud of how her station was clean and organized and insisted upon pointing this out to everyone else. Another made friendly jokes about those around him and was sometimes prodded back. It was very interesting. People are fun to watch (though not so much to draw).
Back home I came, then I ate my math. Took Lance and Skyler to Best buy after picking up and dropping off Brenden. Bought Beethoven's Last Night (which I'm certain all of you are sick of hearing about, but will probably continue to hear about for many days to come) and much giddiness followed. Ate more of my math whilst listening happily to the music I'd just purchased (despite the fact that I had a burnt CD of it, I still bought it, the booklet really clears up what's going on in the songs).
I can CanCan, can you too?
Well, lets see. Fourth hour is somewhat reportworthy. We were in the library, on the way to the aforementioned place I was approached by one of my classmates (I believe Danny by name) and he struck up a conversation. Questioning what I was listening to and what type of music it was. "It's somewhat like classical and rock mixed together." He questioned further "Is that possible?" My reply, "Oh yes, nothing like Flight of the Bumblebee on the electrical guitar." Once in the library the conversation stopped though I was picking up some strong impressions from him.
Later he asked "Aren't you supposed to like Brittany Spears or something like that?"
"Uck, no. I don't like her music."
"What about NSy-"
"I despise all boybands, they annoy me."
It went on a little further like that and he stated he liked music that he could dance to and shrugged as he returned to his table while muttering his thoughts that people should only like dancable music. I chuckled to myself and thought how silly it would be if there was only music that one could dance to in existance. Then I came upon the realization, that, yes, pretty much all of the music I've come across is dancable, just not the uppity techno ravish type dancing that he was probably reffering to. I reveled further in my music.
Towards the end of class he and one of the female members of my class joined me at the table I'd been working at. Questioning what I was drawing and what it was for. I've gotten the sound impression, juding how they were acting and the feelings I was taking in from both of them, that he likes me. Apparently it's one of those, "I like you, but I'm too shy to admit it." It's odd how you can pull in the emotions others give off and translate it at times. Amusing.
Must be off, have to do stuff for Barb in her classroom. They're such cute little twidgets, they're just a little wired sometimes *cough.* Okay, all the time.
Mmmmm . . . Music. I managed to find the other two CDs amidsts our music collection. Trans-Siberian Orchistra good . . . wee! Music high! I also scribbled out some poetry/prose type stuff last night. Must refine it, yes.
