Not all the words are here. Trying to fill my gap and it's mostly rough and nonesense.

“You’re welcome, madam. We don’t mind doing it, at least I think Forn feels the same.” He looked at his brother.
Forentel nodded his head and swallowed the bite he’d been chewing. “Yes, we talked about it on the way down, hopefully they don’t show up, but if they do, we’ll be there to stop them and bring them in.”
Kallon appraised the two young men again. They looked earnest, like they believed it. Like they didn’t find being hybrid as a reason to hunt someone down. Like they would fight for Sray. Maybe not every Meim was to be held in suspicion, but he would still rather default to distrust than risk being swindled.
“Maybe you should offer them a place to sleep,” Teigan said.
“Are you sure?” Kayrin asked.
“The barn or the ground floor, they can have their pick.”
It was well dark when Teigan scaled the patio pillar. He paused, sitting on the awning and looking out at the plains. Flat and endless. He tilted his head up to stare at the stars. He couldn’t help feeling a tug to the northeast. The constellation low on the horizon would be high in Geteilpohth this time of year. Was Rothan staring up now, a thousand miles away? It felt like she might be. Ten years was too long, but there was no going back. No way to send a message, and no way to know for sure, but it felt like she was.
Rothan paused on the edge. She was going to drop down and head home for the night, but something made her wait. She looked up, ears flicking forward in attention. She inhaled and sat on her haunches, suddenly feeling the weight of loss settle around her heart.
“Did you make it to Ela’yas?” She asked the empty air. “Did you find somewhere you all could live together? Are you looking this way, thinking of me?”
Teigan closed his eyes and inhaled slowly. No scent could span that space, but he could remember it. “I’m sorry, Rothan,” he whispered the words and turned towards the window. He crawled through. Kayrin was already in bed. He climbed into their shared bed and curled up back to back with her. She sighed and rolled over, putting her arm over his shoulder, fingers stroking the fur and she pressed her head against his.
The family got up and went about their usual routine.
“Kallon, do you really have to?” Sray asked in Getie’an.
“Have to what?”
“Your markings,” Sray said, motioning towards him..
“I’m in our house and they know, Voo. I’m not going to hide like I’m ashamed of what I am.”
“I’m not ashamed, Kallon.”
“I didn’t say it,” he said.
“So what do you do when you all aren’t chasing trola?” Forentel asked when they sat down for dinner.
“We farm and breed a couple mares each year.”
“Are they all those nice Kamenan horses? The mare you brought, Zelmae?, to check on Sray and left to breed was one of the best-looking animals I’ve seen.”
“Thank you. One of the few good things my father did was produce good horses. I had a mare and colt I took with me and Zhyelmay was the last filly out of the original mare.

Prompt: The Air Between Us
The air between us is heavy
the space between us swings wide
the air between us holds all the words we couldn’t say.
The air between us carries all we can’t be

She nudged him back. They sat in silence for a while.
“I can’t.”
“You can. He’s going to be fine.”
“What makes you so sure?” Sray asked, frowning at him.
“You know Tos. He isn’t that kind of guy.”
“You don’t know how someone is going to react until you tell them, Kalva. We can’t have it go poorly with anyone in Jon.”
“And how many of the people at Engama that were okay with you before they knew you were hybrid turned around and completely hated you after they found out?”
She could see his point, but it was Tos. “I think more of them were afraid than angry with me. The worst ones already thought I was awful, like Ahstim.”
