Kashian ramblings
Oct. 22nd, 2002 11:06 pmLet's see now . . .
The Shamien have the least amount of types, despite the fact that they're the oldest sentient life form. Y'have the Kirhom, which are the all-around average, Raquinn is an example. The Kirhom stand around 5' at the shoulder. The Kirtem are the heavyweights. Meant for cold climates and not particularly endowed in the ways of wings. Though their wings are shorter than the Kirhom or the Homich's they have a much larger endclaw on their wingtips. The tallest of the Kirtem reach 6' at the shoulder. The Homich are light-built and smaller than the other two. They rove the airid regions of Kashian and can go more than a week without water. Being light and more leant to take wing the Homich are only 4' at average.
The Amrea have five types. The Zach (German "ch," suppose its comparible to the sound a goose or swan makes when it hisses "chhhhh!") are the tallest and have the heaviest build. Their dew claws (at least that's what I call them, the inner claw on the foot that doesn't support any weight) are slightly enlarged, moreso in the males as they use them in courtship disputes. These guys reach a full 7'6" average at the hip (being theropods their hips tend to be higher than their shoulders). Naht Amrea are next in line. Their thumbclaw I compare with the sickle claw found on the raptors, and is used much the same, except it is located on the hands. They have the slanting skull of the other Amrea (the Zach have a more boxed skull). These guys are around 6' at the hip. Drets are next in line. They share the enlarged dews of the Zach, but theirs is moreso and, again, they are like the sickle claw of the velaca and utahraptors. They tend to be more tempermental than the other four types and being 5'5" at the hip makes them one to avoid being on the bad side of as Amrea are a little less withheld by social norms and standards. Second to the last are the Mieks. Their build is very light and they have a drastically tapering snout, moreso than most. They have a slender, lean body and are fairly quick on their feet. They don't go over 5' at the hip as a general rule. The Keilt are the smallest type as they average around 3'6". These little guys have horny protrusions on their eyeridges and one on their nose as well. These are more prominent in the males as courtship contests tend to end in ramming their skulls together. Their arms, in comparison, are somewhat longer and their body is usually feathered due to their small size. All Amrea are born with feathers, but the larger types shed it and have scaly hide whenever the weather permits. Once the temperature falls below a certain degree for more than a full day in comes the protective feathering and by the next day you have a fully-featherd, if somewhat irritable Amrea. The feathers shed on the adults again once the temperature rises and says above the mark for a full day.
I think I'll stop now. Muah ha ha. I feel so accomplished! I think you're sick of hearing me say that, but ah well! I need to do a pronounciation guide. If I ever get a mic that works that'd be wonderful, but until then, you'll just have to suffer with guessing!
