Note to self
Oct. 24th, 2002 07:13 pmDance on Thursdays as well as do arms.
After a long debate I decided to take myself and my music and workout downstairs. Did my arms, did abs, and then attempted push-ups. Shouldn't have tried them after doing the bench press. It left me feeling weak and inadequate because I couldn't bring myself to do one. So I tried jogging in place. That only lasted two minutes until cramps started. Gah! Felt so weak!
Then I decided to vent my frustration, but, rather than drawing or writing, I picked up the beat of the song and danced. Tye's room is the smallest in the house and doesn't leave much room for things such as dancing, but it is downstairs and private. Playing Deep Forest's Music Detected album I moved my way through three songs (5,6, and 7 respectively) and lost myself in it. Wow. I think I know why some people like dancing so much now.
You're able to fully connect with your body and move it in ways that no exercise asks. The rythm conducts your movement moreso than the mind and everything just flows, even if the motions appear jerky and even violent at times. It all flows, it moves with the beat and breathes with the music. It's possible to lose one's self in it, but I don't think it would be such a bad thing to do.
Now my spirit is sated and I shall wash myself.
