mmm Nena-fix *drool*
Oct. 23rd, 2003 05:20 pmI've been listening to nothing but Nena for two days straight. It's lovely. Everyone should listen to Nena! And NOT just 99 Red Balloons (the German version sounds better anyway).
I've decided that once I can understand at least one song by Falco all the way through and keep pace with it I will be fluent in German. I still have a long, long way to go. Why is this? Because Falco sings very fast and is oftentimes hard to understand, mostly because he switches so often between English and German that it can be hard to descipher which one he's speaking, but it's a nice challenge.
Love my German music. ANND! BWAH! My order was shipped out today! HURRA! So sometime between in November I should have a very large box full of DVDs and CDs (save for Galaxy Quest, I think it said they were out of stock or somesuch, should get that translated fully). Bwah! 5 DvDs and 5 CDs heading my way *dances.* Of course I snitches some more Nena-music and also picked up a couple from people I've heard of, but haven't actually seriously listened to, must broaden horizon, yes. DVDs to come: The Lion King (didn't come out until today over there), Bandits, Emil und die Detective (couldn't resist, read the book in German last year and . . . yeah, it's priceless, filmed in Berlin in '00 so I recognize a fair amount of the scenery), erm, Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring), and what dreams may come.
Had a dream last night, it was rather disconcerting, G-ma Robinson got Alzheimers and, yeah, she kept on rambling about 1945 if I remember right. Also mentioned something from around 1960 I think. Nrr, wasn't a happy dream, but I suppose it wasn't a nightmare either.
I shall shower now, for I still smell of horses and sweat (but the good kind! Not the ew BO kind . . . yeah . . . anyway).

German
Date: 2003-10-23 10:42 pm (UTC)I do like German music, though sadly Earthlink tv is dead now. That's the only channel that played international music videos. Even though I couldn't understand the languages it is still amusing to see all the different styles and mannerisms being displayed. Enjoy your DVDs!
