Mmmm, Equine Addiction
Oct. 26th, 2003 09:40 pmSo I made the mistake of going to virtualhorseranch.com today. Okay, so not necessarily a MISTAKE, but I have managed to get myself rather addicted. Ah the memories! Reminds me of when HC was up and open. In memory of that great Cyber-barn game (which I joined back in '96 and played until it became defunct around '98) I've named my ranch after the barn I had then, Blue Moon Acres. Again, THE MEMORIES!
My first order of business was to dig out some descent mares with fairly good prospects (if a little low on training, read: all at Level 0) and get them going. I managed to get 7, all of them either 5,000 or under, two of which were only fillies. Picked out two Morgans, a pair of Shagya Arabs, and three Colorado Rangers. Bred the mares to the purest studs I could find and came up with five foals, one colt and four fillies. I'm rather happy with my little (er . . . medium?) herd.
I'm such a geek, though, all of the foals have Guenitha names (that and they all start with BMa standing for "Blue Moon Acres"), and here they are:
BMa Kigatrea (Ki'g'a't'rea)
Full name: Ki geis at tenurea, meaning? He Runs to Eternity as he has supurb natural endurance, which I hope to build on . . . a lot, once he's old enough to train. He's a chestnut Shagya Arab colt.
BMa Toxira (Tox'ir'a)
Full name: Toxra'ac irta (the c being pronounced like "ts"), which means "Wind's Breath." She has a whole heck of a lot of paint in her background, thus her odd pinto coloration. Which is really odd as she's a Colorado Ranger, but I suppose "pinto-spotted" is close to being a leopardish horse, ne?
BMa Tseilint (C'ei'li'nt)
Full name: Can Keic li Lant, or The Light of Day. She's grey like her mama Curly and his half sister to both Toxira and Vainkait (and also has a full-sister on the way) so I'll be needing to find another Colorado stud as I expand the breeding program once they're of age.
BMa VainKait (V'ai'n Kait')
Full name: Venair ein Kaité, interpreted as Black-on-White. She also has a fair squat of Paint floating around her pedigree (I'll rant about their breed system later) and is pinto-spotted like her half sister Tseilint (must be from IE Wind and Sky, the stud). Just an overall good filly.
BMa Idanlid (Id'an'li'd)
Full name: Idré can Danurea li Cild (again, the c is actually "ts") which means "For the Love of Gold," she's a palomino Morgan (and I imagine rather pretty at that). I was kinda hoping for a champange color like her mom (chablis Bordeux), but palomino is good.
Managed to get a few of them up to Level one and have almost hit Level two with Chablis Bordeux. Much obsessive happiness.
Went somewhat event crazy and entered as many as I could into as many events as possible for kicks, some of the results are already coming in. No placings yet, but there is still hope!
Hmm . . . must draw pictures.
Odd idea, hey,
demoncougar, we should start an LJ community for this *again, is an obsessed geek.*

Date: 2003-10-27 05:02 pm (UTC)And I shall make a DA community thing...to try and promote the creation of original artwork for horse images as opposed to just rippiung imasges...plus then we can have a place to post VHR-related art...and stuff...maybe? D'ye think it a good idea?
