Wings, wings, wings
Dec. 7th, 2003 11:28 amOkay, I admit it, I was stressing slightly as to how my parents would react to me drying bird wings and soforth. Actually, I think I was stressing more about someone finding a dead bird (feathers and all) in the freezer. But anyway, got it all rigged up, used Vinerm's cage lid for it as I was lacking in something else that was sturdy and would let the wings breathe (I may pick up an extra lid for this purpose so I don't have to use the fish tankish one while I'm drying the wings). Also made use of the little tie things that one often finds holding Breyer modles to the box. Knew those would come in handy some day! The X-acto knife worked rather well and it was easier than I'd thought it'd be, and thank heavens for replacable blades! I'm rather excited, I have them hanging underneath the swamp cooler on the west side of the house so they should get a fair amount of sun and drying and should be covered if it decides to rain for some strange reason.
Oh, yes. So Mom and family came home as I was tying it up. Walked inside, Mom questioned "what've you been up to?" I reply, "Drying bird wings." And all was well. Dad's test driving the Explorer, the battery was dead this morning (harr! Karma-but-not-really makes its rounds!) and they left it charging during church.
I have about an hour and a half before I need to get ready, hmmr.
