Demon gland
Aug. 12th, 2004 09:23 amOkay, so last night before I went to bed I had a slight pain just behind my jaw and below my right ear. Didn't think much of it. Minor little inflamation of the gland that rests there, no problem, won't last long. How wrong was I.
Yes, it's Thursday, yes, I'm still home. It's that bad. It woke me up around 2.30, the entire right side of my face ached and my right temple was throbbing and there was no way I was going to get back to sleep with that much pain generating from my face. It wasn't as quite a sharp pain as when the lovely female cycle kicks it into high gear, but being on my head rather than resting in my abdomen I was rather keenly aware of the pain being as the face and head have an insane amount of sensory organs. I wander around, Appy barks, probably woke up Tye, take two Ibuprofen, get a bag of ice, and head back to bed. I don't know how long it took me to get back to sleep, but I doubt it was any quicker than an hour. This morning I slept through my alarm until around 5.20, debated on whether or not I should go to work, and, with the help from the residual pain still eminating from behind my jaw, but below my ear, I called in sick.
Now I get to wait until 3.30 for an appointment at Griner's to see what's the matter. I've taken another Ibup. but it still hurts and I probably shouldn't take any more until at least 11. So here I sit with my head resting on a lump of ice wrapped in a towel that is in turn resting on my shoulder. The ice helps a little.
I want to ride my boy, but I'm stuck at home sick, or, rather, in pain.
