Horses and small children
Nov. 6th, 2004 09:12 pmThree kids came over to Judy's today to ride. We put them on Spirit and Starlight. I was extremely happy with how Starlight did with 'em. She was very responsive, though she did try and turn in a lot that's alright because it ket it interesting for the kids.
I tried cleaning Kash's sheath today because he's due for it. Of course, I couldn't get him to drop (however I comend him in not moving around or attempting to kick me whilst I tried). Cleaned what I could, gave up, and rode him for a bit. He was an angel by the way and did exactly what was asked of him. Untacked him, brushed him off, and lead him out. Guess what he did as soon as I let him out? He finally dropped. Alas, such is life. I'll just have to try and clean him another day when he feels like being more cooperative.
Mom found an add for an 8 y/o Fox Trotter. She left a message for the guy and hopefully he'll call back so we can go check him out. Sounds like a really nice horse. In other news concerning a Trotter Grandpa's chewing on the idea of letting us have Dakota Sue. She's the mom of both Cinnamin and Sassy. She's not been worked a whole lot this year because everyone preffers riding either her daughters or the taller geldings (Rowdy, Rambo, and Ebony). It'd be insanely cool if we could get her down here. She's a fantastic little mare and though she has a tendancy to be hefty, if she's worked I'd wadger she'd slim right down.
Chris and I attempted to look at trailers, but the place was closed. We'll try again on Friday when both of us have the day off.
That's about it. I'm going to settle down and watch Lion King 2 and 3(aka 1.5) because I need my dose of horrible sequals (though TLK2 wasn't nearly so bad as some of the others) and I haven't seen the third one yet.
