Feelings of Accomplishment
Jan. 22nd, 2012 08:51 pmI rode Kash, Panda, and Charm-N this week. Doing so has reminded me that if I get to ride or otherwise work a horse in the day I feel so much more accomplished than if I do not. Regardless of whatever else I do.
Friday I had Keara help me pull out the standards and set up some low jumps. I set up a crossrail, vertical, and a "mini oxer" that was maybe 8" with an 18" spread, again, small. I don't think I've jumped in a year. It was quite fun! I was in my Western saddle instead of the English as Keara was using it on Kitt. Kitt knocked down the jumps several times, but she did well and Keara had a ball. Once Kash warmed up he was alert and eager over them and again gave me some really nice walk to canter transitions. I forget how much fun he is to ride and he is such a good boy. Hard to believe I've had him eight years!
